ILFORD PERCEPTOL PDF

Have Fun! Introduction Choosing a black and white film developer is often a deeply personal decision, but not necessarily. Certain films and developers are meant to work together as designed by their manufacturers and if you stick to the formula, you can expect specific, consistent results. The fun really begins though, when you start to mix and match for various reasons. Developers Most of the developers available today have been around for a long time and have changed very little if at all. The champion of longevity is Rodinal, which was patented in and is the oldest currently available photographic product.

The main reason to use Perceptol is for exceptionally sharp negatives. You will get greater definition and detail than most popular fine grain developers. So, if you want extra fine grain and sharpness this developer is for you. Perceptol will get the most out of the superb grain structure of medium and slow speed films. Also worth a try with some of the faster films for significantly finer grain. How To Use As it is a powder, you dilute it to make a stock solution first.

Stir until the powder has dissolved. Then continue to stir, while gradually adding the contents of Part B. Keep stirring until no more powder dissolves. Add ml cold water to make up 1 litre and stir.

Allow this to cool to room temperature, then the developer is then ready to use. Ilford Perceptol can either be used as a stock solution, or it can be diluted further with water for one-shot processing. That means one part stock solution to one part water. So that is one part stock solution to three parts water. Prepare these working solutions from the stock solution directly before they are needed. Always make sure you mix together thoroughly before use. Both guides will walk you through each step of developing film at home.
